What this is...

I am attempting to put together a set of NGC slabs that are marked  "Collectors' Society" These special marked slabs have been given away with new subscriptions to membership in NGC's Collectors Society. These slabs have also been given away at special functions. Some call them SAMPLE slabs.

Years:

2003 they used a 2003-D State quarter set in the MS65 grade in a multi holder. (This has no year or designation of the Collectors Society, but is marked as Collectors' Society- Limited Edition)

2004 they used a 2004-P State quarter set in the MS65 grade in a multi holder. (This has no year or designation of the Collectors Society, but is marked as Collectors' Society- Limited Edition)

2005 there seems to have been 2 slabs. Both hold a 1994 Silver Eagle with the grade of MS68. The first has a designation of “Collectors' Society”. The second has a designation with the year. “2005 Collectors' Society”. Both are marked with NGC Collectors Society on the label.

2006 was mix of coins. First we have a 2006 Silver Eagle in the grade MS68 with a “2006 Collectors' Society” designation. Next we have nine Statehood quarters. COLORADO, MARYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, NEBRASKA, NEVADA, NORTH DAKOTA, SOUTH DAKOTA, VIRGINIA, NEW HAMPSHIRE that are all marked with a “2006 Collectors' Society” designation. And all are S-Clad PF69 UC.

2007 is another mix of coins. So far I have found a Silver Eagle MS68 with a “2007 Collectors' Society” designation. Then eight Statehood quarters VIRGINIA, CALIFORNIA, KANSAS, MINNESOTA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, SOUTH CAROLINA, WEST VIRGINIA, OREGON that are all marked with a “2007 Collectors' Society” designation. And all are S-Clad PF69 UC.

The last coin I have seen them use is a A 2007-D George Washington $1 Brilliant Un-circulated First Day of Issue see details. But it has no Collectors Society markings. 

I have been told by NGC they will no longer use the Collectors Society label.
